Business Systems Analyst, Mid

Key Role:

Perform as a key member of a high-functioning team responsible for assisting a government client by analyzing the development and implementation of a comprehensive data management (DM) program across a US Navy enterprise. Support the development and implementation of an Authoritative Data Environment (ADE) delivering the required data and enforce the laws, regulations, policies, and processes required to regulate access to data down to the data object level. Gain thorough comprehension of the client's business systems and current or future requirements. Identify current or future requirements being driven by US Navy initiatives. Perform detailed research, write policy and guidance documents, and analyze data management strategy, governance, policy, concepts of operations (CONOPS), use cases, and other documents, as directed by the government or contractor task lead. Assist data users, including system managers, researchers, and analysts with service requests for implementing or amending system interfaces and data transfers through compliance review, under general direction. Analyze procedures for data management practices. Assist team members with supporting the client's enterprise information management, as needed.

Basic Qualifications:

-Experience with commercial data management, business intelligence and analysis, and visualization software, including Informatica, Mulesoft, Tableau, Cognos, SAP, or OBIEE

-Experience with researching and writing various levels of documents ranging from high-level strategies and through the increasingly more detailed ranges of plans, CONOPS, and standard operating procedures (SOPs)

-Experience with the Microsoft Office product suite at an advanced level, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Project

-Knowledge of Navy human resources information or business systems

-Secret clearance

-AA or AS degree or 5 years of experience with business analysis, business systems analyst, data architect, or database analyst work

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with serving as a data architect or database analyst

-Experience with the data management community’s practice and body of knowledge, including DAMA DMBOK V2, such as data architecture concepts and activities, relational and logical databases, and building and maintaining enterprise data models, such as subject area, conceptual, logical, and relational

-Knowledge of data management programs and business practices as outlined in the DAMA DMBOK V2, including conducting business analysis tools and techniques analysis of business and user needs, documenting functional and technical requirements, and translating them into future system requirements

-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills, including drafting, reviewing, and editing technical graphics, documents, and briefings

-BA or BS degree preferred; MA or MS degree a plus
