Cabling/Wiring Technician

Key Role:
Fabricate cable assemblies and wiring harnesses in a professional prototyping or production environment for automotive, aerospace, or military applications. Work in a fast-paced environment with multiple concurrent projects and jobs.  Work in an environment implementing Lean Six Sigma techniques. 
 

Basic Qualifications:
-3+ years of experience with fabricating cable assemblies and wiring harnesses in automotive, aerospace, or military cable assembly components
-Experience with using various cable assembly tools, including crimpers, wire strippers, harness testers, and test fixtures
-Experience with industry techniques for quality control for cable assemblies, setting up cable test fixtures, and performing quality assurance tasks
-Experience with reading military cable drawings and bills of materials and performing inventory or kitting tasks
-Ability to redline drawings for design modifications
-Ability to install or rework cables in tight spaces on military vehicles
-Ability to obtain a security clearance
-HS diploma or GED
-IPC/WHMA-620 and J-STD-001 Certifications
 

Additional Qualifications:
-Experience with cable design a plus
-Experience with using cable design software tools a plus
-Experience with military vehicle systems and C4ISR equipment a plus
-Experience as an IPC trainer a plus
-Experience with reworking or modifying existing cables from redlines
-Ability to help teach other technicians and share working level expertise, when required
-Ability to fabricate cables from a conceptual level preferred
-Ability to install various C4ISR equipment and brackets onto military vehicles
-Completion of technical trade schooling a plus
