Capabilities Needs Analysis/Warfighting Challenges Analyst Lead

Key Role:

Identify, analyze, and evaluate complex and highly sensitive systems, policies, processes, and instrumentation related to foreign threats and homeland security. Determine procedures for solving complex design, integration, and analytical problems. Perform or direct scientific and technical intelligence analysis. Report changes, trends, and implications regarding the design and integration of evolving systems and instrumentation. Prepare briefings and reports on analysis methodologies and results. Provide work leadership for junior employees.


Basic Qualifications:

-8+ years of experience with the Army’s Capability Needs Analysis (CNA) process

-3+ years of experience with working in the Army concepts and capabilities development community of practice

-Experience with operations as either an S3, G3, or service equivalent and service as a combat arms officer

-Experience with DOTMLPF-P domains and analysis, JCIDS process and capabilities development, concept of operations (CONOPS), and Army functional concepts

-Experience with the Army Capabilities Assessment Tool (ArCAT) database

-Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project

-Ability to oversee and manage the range of CNA requirements across the seven warfighting functions and 20 Army Warfighting Challenges (AWFCs) that are aligned with the TRADOC CoEs and CDIDs

-Secret clearance

-BA or BS degree


Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) or Army Capabilities Integration Center (ARCIC)

-Experience with headquarters processes, including requirements development and developing organizational strategies

-Knowledge of Army capability developments processes and the Joint Capability Development Integration System (JCIDS)  

-Knowledge how to integrate the Army’s capabilities with other services, US government agencies, academia, and industry

-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills for addressing senior officers at the Colonel level or above

-Possession of excellent critical thinking skills to develop creative solutions to complex problems

-Graduate of the US Army Command and General Staff College or other service equivalent
