Cerner Technical Project Manager

Key Role:

Serve as a Cerner Deployment PMO technical manager and member of a Program Management Office team established to support the deployment of Cerner Millennium with the Department of Veteran Affairs EHR Modernization Program. Ensure that EHRM PEO processes and standards are applied to all assigned product or projects. Support to address changes to product or project scope, schedule or funding, methods to document and analyze proposed changes for presentation to VA Leadership for decision. Participate in setting engagement objectives and scope. Create project plans to support EHRM CTO infrastructure project, including site and enterprise level plans. Integration and coordination of that plan with other CTO project plans. Actively manage and monitor projects to completion using standard project management practices. Identification and support of risk management to include using a risk register. Manage and monitor scope, deliverables, cost, schedule, quality, risk, and resources. Have an understanding of VA’s ITOPS organization, including business processes around engineering and HW buying or deployment. Provide guidance to junior practitioners as they manage large, confidential and complex data sets. Develop process flows identifying challenges and opportunities in business processes and conduct detailed analyses, draw conclusions, and develop pertinent and insightful recommendations. Present findings and recommendations to client leadership.

Basic Qualifications:

-15 years of experience with diverse IT projects, both large and small

-Experience with end-to-end revenue cycle operations and consulting with various types of healthcare organizations, including large multi-entity health systems

-Ability to be well versed in full systems development life cycle, enterprise wide network engineering, strategic information planning, business process re-engineering, structure, and management practices

-Ability to identify and mitigate risks to the program

-Ability to manage project cost, schedule, and performance

-BA or BS degree in CS, Engineering, Mathematics, or Technology or 25 years of experience as an integration engineer, including working with hospital billing systems in lieu of a degree
