Cerner/VistA Systems Integration Validation Expert

Key Role:

Work with and support members of the Department of Veteran Affairs (VA) Electronic Health Record Modernization (EHRM) Program Management Office and leverage expertise in Cerner EHR or HealtheIntent, VA systems, SDLC, and Service Planning and Development Life Cycle (SPDL). Collaborate with Cerner contractors to achieve integration, correcting system, application, and interface problems to ensure application of integration quality standards across all projects. Oversee the optimal integration of systems via analysis, design, modeling, test, documentation, and implementation of applications and interfaces. Assess tools, techniques, and processes, customize, adept, and verify software, automate processes associated with production applications and environments, and assist others. Support application-system production environments and prepare reports for the technology center evaluation of system integration quality indicators. Support information technology knowledge management through documenting, maintaining, and improving system integration standards, processes, and practices, and assisting others to do so. Guide and mentor Specialist Levels 1 and 2 and develop and implement formal system integration performance improvement programs to enhance and sustain system, application, and interface reliability, availability, stability, and integrity in support of the overall departmental performance improvement goals.

Basic Qualifications:

-15 years of experience with diverse IT projects, both large and small

-Experience with end-to-end revenue cycle operations and consulting with various types of healthcare organizations, including large multi-entity health systems

-Ability to be well versed in full systems development life cycle, enterprise wide network engineering, strategic information planning, business process re-engineering, structure, and management practices

-Ability to identify and mitigate risks to the program

-Ability to manage project cost, schedule, and performance

-BA or BS degree in CS, Engineering, Mathematics, or Technology or 25 years of experience as an integration engineer, including working with hospital billing systems in lieu of a degree
