Character Artist/3D Generalist

Key Role:

Work as a character artist/3D generalist to provide hands–on character creation, rigging, and animation expertise to a VR/AR immersive studio. Deliver high quality work, hit deadlines, problem solve, work well with others, communicate effectively, and work autonomously. Work in a casual, stimulating, and creative office environment. Perform different endeavors with a variety of timelines and project expectations with multiple partners and stakeholders and different creative solutions for different problems. Work on projects that range from short demos to potentially long–term fully immersive worlds with hundreds of realistic characters. 


Basic Qualifications

-2+ years of experience with animation in Maya, 3Dstudio Max, Blender, or Softimage

-2+ years of experience with character modeling in Maya, 3Dstudio Max, Blender, Modo, Silo, Cinema4D, or Softimage

-2+ years of experience with character rigging in Maya, 3Dstudio Max, Blender, or Softimage

-Ability to obtain a security clearance


Additional Qualifications

-Experience with modeling in Z–brush or Mudbox

-Experience with engines, including Unity, Unreal, or a custom in house engine

-Experience with Mocap and some cleanup and capture

-Knowledge of Substance Painter, including 3Dcoat, Mari, Mudbox, or Bodypaint

-Knowledge of VR/AR and an enthusiastic attitude towards R&D with rapid prototyping

-Ability to model hard surface props and organic shapes in Maya, 3Dstudio Max, Blender, or Softimage

-Ability to create realistic proportional human modeling

-BA or BS degree from an Art School or 2 years of experience in the game industry
