Chemical Security Subject Matter Expert

Key Role:

Provide subject matter expert (SME) support to DoD efforts to strengthen the ability of partner governments to prevent misuse of toxic chemicals, secure weaponizable chemicals, and enhance international chemical security best practices. Leverage communication and negotiation expertise, and knowledge of international chemical security standards to identify and analyze potential opportunities for engagement between the US DoD and international partner governments. Collect and analyze information and data to develop policies, directives, doctrine, and standard operating procedures guiding the design, implementation, and modification of the government program, and track and monitor un-resourced requirements, contract expenditures or unliquidated obligations and conduct contract closeout activities. Assist with program and project strategic communication, long range planning and analysis. Leverage knowledge of federal acquisition regulation (FAR) to assist the government with contract execution throughout the project life cycle, and provide staff action management and coordination.

Basic Qualifications:
-10+ years of experience in a professional work environment
-5+ years of experience working in chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, and DoD
-5+ years of experience working training, exercises, and joint operations with U.S. international military partners

-Experience with the complete Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Project

-Ability to be a self-starter and prioritize multiple tasks with minimal supervision

-Ability to work independently and as an integrated member of a program team

-Secret clearance
-BA or BS degree in Business, Management, Engineering, or Life Science

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience as a U.S. Army Chemical Officer

-Experience working with the U.S. domestic chemical security programs

-Ability to navigate the inner working of foreign diplomacy successfully with a professional demeanor

-Experience with preparing briefings and reports appropriate for senior government executives  
-Experience with providing subject matter expertise to a larger team

-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills
