Chief Data Architect

Key Role:

Help create the next generation of Big Data analytic solutions for clients. Combine engineering expertise with innovation ingenuity to deliver robust, enterprise-scale data platforms that serves clients and differentiates Booz Allen as an industry-leading provider of Big Data solutions. Supervise a team of high-impact data architects and data engineers with a focus on Hadoop and NoSQL frameworks to extract and disseminate knowledge from vast amounts of structured and unstructured data. Help drive new strategy and service offerings into Booz Allen as an experienced data engineer, resulting in new deliveries to clients. Engage with multiple functional groups and accounts to comprehend client challenges, prototype new ideas and new technologies, help create solutions to drive the next wave of innovation, and manage a portfolio of delivery projects and client engagements.

Basic Qualifications:

-10+ years of experience with delivering high-impact software solutions to government clients

-5+ years of experience in working with Big Data Platforms, including Hortonworks and Cloudera

-Experience with developing, maturing, and delivering new service offerings into the government industry

-Experience with independently managing a business segment, including financial and resource management

-Experience with leading and conducting business development activities, including proposals and client marketing

-Experience with search technologies, including Solr and Elasticsearch and with product management, marketing, and delivery

-Knowledge of Cloud technologies, including AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud

-Ability to quickly learn technical concepts and communicate with multiple functional groups

-Secret clearance

-BA or BS degree

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with dimensional data modeling and schema design in Data Warehouses

-Experience with hands-on software design, implementation, and testing

-Experience in custom or structured ETL design, implementation, and maintenance

-Experience with developing service APIs for external consumption

-Experience with multiple data modeling concepts, including XML and JSON

-Experience with RDBMS data stores, including PostgreSQL and MySQL

-Experience with Machine Learning or Deep Learning concepts and algorithms

-Experience with DevOps methods and tools, including Jenkins, Ansible, Git, and Docker

-Experience with large-scale, distributed systems design and development

-Knowledge of scaling, performance, and scheduling

-Knowledge of RESTful services design, development, and testing

-Knowledge of system architecture, including process, memory, storage, and networking management preferred

-Knowledge of MapReduce, Spark, or other parallel processing framework

-Possession of excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

-Security+ or CISSP Certification
