Chief Engineer

Key Role:

Provide creativity, analysis, and leadership to one of the firm’s leading defense R&D agencies across a wide range of technology programs, including advanced electronics, hypersonic, robotics, positioning, navigation, and timing (PNT), sensors systems, and advanced ISR platforms. Establish a clear engineering and science growth strategy for capturing whitespace. Develop and apply advanced hardware or systems methods, theories, and research techniques to the investigation and solution of complex and advanced technical problems. Plan, conduct, technically direct, and evaluate projects or major phases of significant projects, coordinating the efforts of engineers and technical support staff in the performance of assigned projects. Conduct investigations and tests of considerable complexity and review literature, patents, and current practices relevant to the solution of assigned projects. Recommend corrections in technical application and analysis and evaluate vendor capabilities to provide required products or services. Work with world-class government scientists in driving forward research efforts by providing advisory services, including strategic technical assessments of government sponsored research and development programs.

Basic Qualifications:

-10+ years of experience in a science or engineering discipline, including electrical, systems, and applied physics

-Experience with managing large programs and DoD contracts in the government sector

-Experience with leading and managing R&D programs across advanced electronics, unmanned aircraft, advanced ISR platforms, and advanced weapon and sensor development

-Experience with managing and developing technical staff

-Ability to commute to Arlington, VA

-Ability to obtain a security clearance

-MS degree in Engineering

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with business development in the government sector

-Possession of excellent client service skills

-PhD degree in a related technical field
