Civil/Mechanical Engineer

Key Role:

Plan, design, and supervise construction, maintenance, and alteration of structures and facilities, including pipelines, tunnels, power plants, water and sewerage systems, waste disposal units, and similar facilities. Estimate personnel needs, schedule work to meet completion dates and technical specifications, work out proposals and cost estimates, evaluate progress and results, and recommend major changes in procedures or objectives. Apply comprehensive knowledge of particular field of specialization for the completion of significant assignments and display well-developed leadership qualities that crosses fields. Develop and review Statements of Work, design criteria, project requirements, Request for Information (RFI), and RFP development for Facilities Sustainment, Repair, and Modernization (FSRM) projects. Review designs during 30, 60, 90, and 100 for final signature and coordinate construction with affected MCB Hawaii parties, the NAVFACHI ROICC, and the base maintenance shops. Review, recommend, and provide engineering evaluations of mission critical structures and coordinate, validate, and distribute all design plans and specifications and project turn over documents to the maintenance division, including as-builts, pre-construction, construction, and shop drawings, OMSI documents, commissioning reports, utility one-line drawings, beneficial occupancy documents, final inspection deficiency resolution, and beneficial occupancy sign-offs. Review and recommend collateral equipment requirements and manage critical initiatives, objectives, and all aspects of operations management associated with FSRM scope project requirements.

Basic Qualifications:

-Experience with wastewater treatment systems

-Knowledge of the development of professional-level correspondence and the management of programs

-Knowledge of DoD and Marine Corps policies and regulations related to facilities planning, engineering, and operations and maintenance projects

-BS degree in Civil Engineering or ME

Additional Qualifications:
-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills

​-Possession of excellent customer service skills for daily interaction with various levels of rank, authority, and positions, including military and civilians

-MS degree in Civil Engineering or ME

-Professional Engineering License
