Cloud Architect

Key Role:

Work on an array of applications, taking advantage of emerging Cloud technologies to provide improved application resiliency and the ability to self-serve. Generate innovative ideas and develop proof-of-concepts and rapid prototypes alongside others. Consult and upskill other engineers on DevOps and Cloud solutions, including distributed version control and trunk-based development practices, infrastructure automation, monitoring and operations, and a well-architected Amazon Web Service (AWS) and Azure Cloud infrastructure. Empower other individuals, teams, and departments to responsibly self-serve and self-administer their Cloud deployment, administration, configuration, and other tasks related to securely delivering Cloud-native services and Cloud-based applications. Contribute to the ongoing development of Cloud security strategies and drive the tactical implementation. Participate in remediation and continuous improvement within a Cloud environment with effective countermeasures and mitigation.

Basic Qualifications:
-5+ years of experience with direct, hands-on work architecting Cloud-based solutions, including AWS and Azure, including architecture, security, data services, and infrastructure management

-Experience with architecting a Cloud-based solution for data ingestion and management, including both streaming and batch

-Experience with architecting data and analytics platform on the Cloud

-Experience with APIs, orchestration, automation, and databases, including SQL and NoSQL

-Experience with Linux and UNIX systems and best practices for deployment

-Experience with private and hybrid Cloud implementation, including cost saving strategies for the Cloud

-Ability to obtain a security clearance
-BA or BS degree

Additional Qualifications:
-Experience with DevOps a plus
-Experience with the Big Data ecosystem, including HDFS, NOSQL, and Graph databases

-Experience with open source data ingestion tools, including Nifi and Spark a plus

-Experience with project management and Agile software development tools

-Experience in supporting and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment

-Ability to learn new technologies

-Ability to explain advanced concepts to team members, users, and clients
-Ability to work independently and address ad-hoc challenges

-Ability to display excellent inductive and deductive reasoning

-Possession of excellent organizational, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills

-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills

-AWS or Azure Certifications a plus
