Cloud DevOps Platform Engineer, Senior

Key Role:

Serve as a DevOps platform engineer for client systems and networks within Cloud and hybrid environments focusing on automation and orchestration while developing a DevOps pipeline to drive rapid delivery of functionality. Introduce DevOps and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) concepts and automate and orchestrate manual security and operations activities to create resiliency, improve efficiency, reliability, and security of Cloud hosted networks and systems. Support Cloud-based analytics and tool development, technology planning, applied systems architecture development and integration, script development, integrated logistics support, modeling and simulation, configuration management, systems and mission engineering, systems acquisition, and life cycle management. Develop technical solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity and focus on increased automation capabilities using CloudFormation or similar tools and services. Leverage expertise with Cloud architectural constructs and Cloud-specific technologies and services using knowledge of Cloud Command Line Interfaces (CLI) and Cloud SDKs and establish and maintain Cloud environments programmatically and through using vendor consoles. Perform engineering and scientific tasks in planning, development, test, production, operations, and maintenance environments. Engage with multiple functional groups to comprehend challenges and prototype new ideas and technologies to create solutions to drive the next wave of innovation. This position is located in San Diego, CA.

Basic Qualifications:

-4+ years of experience with networking, infrastructure, or database engineering or operations

-2+ years of experience as a solutions architect, solutions platform engineer, or equivalent role, including leading the development and implementation of mid-sized to large-scale IT systems

-2+ years of experience with build, deployment, and release automation and orchestration

-2+ years of experience with automation tools, including Salt, Puppet, Chef, Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible

-1+ years of experience with supporting enterprise Cloud applications or infrastructure

-1+ years of experience with infrastructure as code environments, including any activities around automated server or network configurations, large-scale software deployments, and monitoring and testing, such as CI/CD

-Experience with automating system configurations and orchestrating network operations and DevOps pipelines, scaling, releases, and day-to-day system operations in Cloud environments

-Secret clearance

-HS diploma or GED

-Certification in one the following: CompTIA Security+ CE (Sec+ CE), CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP), or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with Amazon Web Services, US government Commercial Cloud Services (C2S), or other Cloud Service Provider

-Experience with provisioning and managing applications in both virtual and Cloud infrastructures, including AWS preferred

-Experience with identifying and implementing automation in appropriate areas

-Experience with scripting in Shell, PowerShell, Python, Groovy, or Ruby

-Experience with scripting and open technologies, including PowerShell, JavaScript, Python, and others

-Experience with Linux and shell scripting a plus

-Experience with open technologies, DevOps, and related Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, including Docker, Kubernetes, Diamanti, OpenShift, Jenkins, GitHub, Terraform, Pivotal, AppDynamics, and others

-Experience with the integration of systems using a variety of protocols, including XML, REST, and JSON

-Experience with the practical implementation of DoD security standards, DevOps and Agile methodologies, and IT Service Management principles

-Experience in an Agile environment and using JIRA Agile tools

-Experience with configuring and integrating Microsoft Active Directory, DNS, and other network services

-Experience with documenting an as-is state of the environment, perform a gap analysis, and produce artifacts that articulate options and recommendations preferred

-Cloud Certification, including AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate Certification, Google Certified Professional – Cloud Architect, or MCSE: Cloud Platform and Infrastructure preferred
