Cloud Software Engineer, Senior

Key Role: 
Perform highly complex analysis, design, development, testing, and debugging of computer software to support distinct product hardware or technical service lines of businesses. Develop and apply advanced methods, theories, and research techniques to the investigation and solution of complex software applications and problems. Plan and conduct major technical phases of significant projects by coordinating the efforts of technical support staff and the performance of assigned projects. Review the completion and implementation of technical products and evaluates vendors capabilities. Assist with training junior software engineer staff.
 

Basic Qualifications: 
-6 years of software development and object-oriented programming using a high-level language, including Java, C, or C++
-5 years of experience with developing software for Windows, UNIX, and Linux operating systems
-3 years of experience with software integration and testing, including the analysis and implementation of test plans and test scripts
-Experience in working with OpenSource NoSQL products that support highly distributed, massively parallel computation needs, including Hbase, CloudBase or Accumulo, Big Table, and Restful
-Experience with the Map Reduce programming model and technologies, including Hadoop, Hive, Pig, HDFS, and JSON
-Knowledge of software development, including requirements analysis, installation, integration, evaluation, enhancement, maintenance, testing, and troubleshooting
-TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph
-BA or BS degree and 8 years of experience with software engineering or 12 years of experience with software engineering in lieu of a degree
-Hadoop or Cloud Developer Certification
 

Additional Qualifications:
-Experience with ELK Stack, including Elasticsearch, Logstash, and Kibana
-Experience with UNIX or Linux monitoring and tuning
-Experience with Linux operating system level virtualization
-Experience as a committer or contributor to an open source application
-Experience with designing and developing automated analytic software, techniques, and algorithms
-Experience with documenting ontologies, data models, schemas, formats, data element dictionaries, software application program interfaces, and other technical specifications
-Knowledge of Big Data Cloud scalability, including Amazon, Google, and Facebook
-Knowledge of Apache products, including Hadoop, Accumulo, NiFi, Zookeeper, and HAProxy


Clearance:
Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is required.
