Combat System Engineer, Senior

Key Role:
Provide combat systems integration and engineering support to a Navy client’s program office. Perform technical investigations on issues identified during engineering activities, including the design, development, integration, installation, test and evaluation, qualification, and certification of surface combatant combat system components and variants. Support the client by performing documentation reviews, including design documents, engineering change proposals, trouble reports, T&E documents, and analysis of test data. Support planning and conduct for system installation, checkout, and test, including the review of installation Technical Data Packages (TDPs), Installation Control Drawings (ICDs), and Ship Installation Drawings (SIDs). Provide system design certification and acceptance testing support. Recommend process improvements with specification and procedural boundaries to achieve efficiencies and cost savings. Interface with government technical project managers to ensure support provided meets or exceeds all work performance objectives and standards.  

Basic Qualifications:
-10+ years of experience with naval combat systems integration and engineering
-Experience with integrating, upgrading, installing, commissioning, testing, managing, and supporting US or foreign naval combat systems, including all shipboard sensors and weapons systems
-Experience with supporting the design, development, and review of systems engineering design artifacts, including Concepts of Operations (CONOPs), requirements analysis, interface design, and system architecture development
-Experience with the operator and maintainer competency levels needed to support surface naval combatant combat systems integration, operation, maintenance, and life cycle supportability
-Knowledge of the DoD acquisition process, including regulations, directives, and statutes, the Navy’s application of the DoD acquisition process, such as contracting and sea trials, and key naval ship acquisition roles and organizations
-Active Secret clearance
-BA or BS degree

Additional Qualifications:
-Experience with a naval ship combat system engineering design, integration, ship modification, construction and pre-commissioning unit 
-Experience with US Navy platforms, surface and air-launched weapons, and C4I, sensor, and electronic warfare systems
-Experience with the foreign military sales program
-MS degree in Systems Engineering preferred
