The Challenge:

Your ability to translate real-world needs into technical specifications, makes you an integral part of delivering a customer focused engineering solution.

As a systems engineer on our team, you have the chance to develop and apply systems methodologies and techniques to investigate solutions for advanced technical problems and support the development, acquisition, and integration of a ships combat system with a new platform design. Apply intermediate level of knowledge of combat system integration of ship weapon systems, leveraging systems engineering principles as well as the Navy design and acquisition processes. Support multi-disciplinary team on technical and engineering tasks on behalf of the Navy program office, including: conducting manufacturing/fabrication trade studies in the performance of requirements analysis, requirements definition, requirements management, functional performance analysis, system design, systems integration and test, and interface definition studies of system, subsystem or system elements in order to develop cost-effective systems and designs that meet mission objectives. Review Combat System vendor design documentation for completeness and compatibility with prescribed ship builder specification, standards and requirements.

You Have:

-8+ years of experience with systems engineering activities for large-scale DoD acquisition programs, including design, development, integration, test, operation, or maintenance of combat systems aboard US Naval ships

-Knowledge of both military and commercial electrical interface protocols, Combat System integration criteria, equipment interaction methods, major signal flows, and US Navy and commercial shipbuilding specifications

-Knowledge of various network types, current commercial trends in the field, and the cabling materials required to support them

-Knowledge of both military and commercial cables and connectors, including material types and the advantages of each

-Knowledge of commercial technologies and specifications for digital, video, and communication systems

-Secret clearance

-BS degree in EE, System Engineering, or Computer Engineering or 4 years of Systems Engineering experience.

Nice If You Have:

-Experience with US Navy platforms and combat systems, surface and air–launched weapons, C4I, Sensor, and Electronic Warfare systems

-Experience with UNIX or Linux based operating systems and networks

-Possession of excellent initiative and interpersonal skills, including writing detailed reports and preparing and giving effective presentations

-MS or ME degree in EE, Systems Engineering, or Computer Engineering preferred
