Communications Systems Engineer, Senior

Key Role:

Support communications systems engineering, including space, aerial, and terrestrial to resolve critical technical issues for the public safety communications (PSC) community. Work independently or as part of a team to organize and execute technical working groups and tiger teams to analyze, evaluate, and resolve issues. Participate in communications architecture and roadmap planning, study, and assess alternatives. Participate DoD-wide analysis of alternatives (AoAs) by engaging in technical working groups. Assist with the planning and execution of studies and analysis efforts, as directed by the client. Participate in DoD communications-related meetings and forums.

Basic Qualifications:

-Experience with communications, including military and commercial public safety solutions and architectures

-Experience with using large data sets to identify potential trends and gaps and evaluate and forecast next generation communications capabilities

-Experience with PSC, and E911, and land mobile radio (LMR), including networking and fostering working relationships across the PSC community
-Experience with using Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint to conduct analysis, develop point or issue papers, and articulate findings and recommendations to the client and across the DoD community
-Ability to meet with and brief senior DoD officers independently and work closely across multiple federal, state, and DoD agencies and services

-Ability to plan, organize, and lead working groups and tiger teams
-TS/SCI clearance

-BA or BS degree

Additional Qualifications:

-Possession of excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with detailed and thoughtful recommendations to the client

-Possession of excellent oral and written and communication skills

-BS in Engineering or a technical field preferred; MA or MS degree in EE, Aerospace Engineering, or Systems Engineering a plus
