Communications Technician, Mid

Key Role:

Provide Audio and Video (A/V) support for the New Enterprise Classroom Modernization (ECM). Maintain VTC bridge management application to provide connectivity for conference calls at variable data rates to balance quality of connection with the customer's demand signal. Maintain scheduling calendars for A/V facilities. Track A/V support requirements and capabilities required for A/V facilities. Provide support for and facilitate the execution of conference-related needs via phone, e-mail, or face-to-face requests. Support the testing and troubleshooting of equipment, devices, components, systems, and methodologies, including evaluation of test data, working directly with VTC technicians and customers to resolve issues at the Tier III level. Perform A/V support functions and apply knowledge of Global Video Services (GVS) and Dedicated Video Teleconferencing (DVS‐G).


Basic Qualifications:

-1+ years of experience as an A/V communications technician

-Ability to work off hours and weekends, if required and perform other duties, as assigned

-Secret clearance required

-HS diploma or GED


Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with integrating multiple vendor solutions

-Knowledge of the products of major vendors, including Cisco, AMX, Polycom, Tandberg, Crestron, Extron, Adtran, and various cryptographic equipment services through Defense Collaboration Services (DCS)

-Knowledge of IP, ISDN, and DoD future plans to support DoD video

-Ability to support multiple audio and video events simultaneously at multiple facilities, while working independently

-Possession of excellent customer service skills
