Computer Engineer/Cybersecurity Operations Engineer

Key Role:
Provide Cybersecurity and privacy analysis. Maintain responsibility for attending technical forums and reviewing system changes, reviewing temporary alterations (TEMPALTs), ship alterations (SHIPALTs), and PT procedure changes to determine the technical impact to the Posture Transition Operation Manual (PTOM). Document technical findings, review technical input, and provide recommendations to the government regarding PTOM revisions, including incorporating approved revisions into the PTOM, coordinating the required personnel and schedules for Shipboard PT, A&A, or Cybersecurity training evolutions, coordinating procedure updates across all US Submarine platforms, and conducting verification and validation of the PTOM. Support all aspects of the PTOM development life cycle, including gathering technical input, attending working group meetings, and scheduling Platform and Personnel for on-board and in-lab events. Conduct configuration management of the PTOM and semi-annual reviews of PTOM documentation for procedure verification, generate a technical report on findings identified during the review, upload approved PTOMs to the Secure Internet Protocol Router (SIPR) repository, maintain life cycle support, including configuration management of Fleet TS/SCI inventories, and coordinate and conduct validation and verification of persistent storage inventory.
 

Basic Qualifications:
-10 years of experience with computer design, software development, or computer networks
-Experience with validation and verification (V&V), security testing, and evaluation of IA controls
-Experience with manual and automated vulnerability tests and evaluation for information systems and software applications and laboratories
-Experience with generating vulnerability reports for Cybersecurity risk assessments and mitigations and analyzing and testing system security contingency and disaster recovery procedures
-Experience with preparing and conducting technical inspections and documenting reviews for security deficiencies and their statuses
-Experience with DoDI 8500.01 Cybersecurity, DoD 8510.01 Risk Management Framework (RMF) for DoD IT, DoD 8500.2 - Information Assurance Implementation 44 U.S.C. § 3541, et seq., Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA) of 2002, DoDD 5200.1, and the DoD Information Security Program
-Knowledge of the Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS) Navy database
-TS/SCI clearance
-BS degree
-CompTIA Security+ Certification
 

Additional Qualifications:
-Experience with submarine operations and submarine non-propulsion electronics systems (NPESes)
-Knowledge of submarine computer systems and the submarine warfare federated tactical system (SWFTS)’s Cybersecurity Planned Maintenance System (PMS)
-MS degree preferred
-DoDI 8570.01 Cybersecurity Workforce Status Professional Certifications
