Continuity of Operations Planner

Key Role:

Serve as the Combatant Command’s (CCMD) primary Continuity of Operations (COOP) planner. Assist with the development, updating, and publishing of a family of COOP instructions, plans, concepts, orders, and policies to assure the execution of all Unified Command Plan assigned missions. Ensure the availability of all required systems and personnel to accomplish CCMD mission essential functions during unscheduled emergencies, including facility maintenance or repair, manmade or natural disasters, threat actor activities, and acts of war. Use government directives and guidance and deliberate and adaptive planning to accomplish mission goals and support organizations throughout the area of responsibility in their COOP plan development. Plan and execute annual COOP training and exercise programs and modify plans based on lessons learned. Apply JOPES, DRRS, and PPBES processes to the COOP plan and regularly brief senior leadership on program progress.

Basic Qualifications:

-5+ years of experience with staff at Major Command or a higher level

-5+ years of experience with operational level planning

-Experience with working in a COOP program

-Experience with using methodologies

-Current TS/SCI clearance

-BA or BS degree

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with mission assurance preferred

-Possession of excellent problem-solving skills

-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills

-MA or MS degree

-School of Advanced Military Studies (SAMS) or Service equivalent

-Graduate of National or Service War College

-Program Management Professional (PMP) Certification

-Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP) or other continuity certification
