Cost Estimator, Senior

Key Role:

Develop, evaluate, and analyze cost models, estimates, budgets, spend plans, business cases, and performance metrics for the client's projects and initiatives. Use analysis to support successful program acquisition milestone reviews, support contract negotiations, prepare program budget submittals, perform cost initiatives to improve program efficiency, and evaluate the costs of multiple future program options. Work closely with program and acquisition managers when analyzing the development of acquisition strategies, analyses, plans, and documents. Prepare and present influential and action-oriented briefs to clients, teams, and stakeholders. Perform complex financial, budget, and administrative reporting for programs or contracts. Lead teams, train other users, and mentor and train other users, as required. Support internal business development and capability growth. This position requires the ability to work across the Washington, DC metropolitan area.

Basic Qualifications:

-3+ years of experience with cost estimation

-Experience with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook

-Ability to critically assess data and communicate priority findings to teams 
-Ability to be flexible, show initiative and innovation, and deal with ambiguous and fast-paced situations 

-Ability to work within a multi-stakeholder, technical, and matrixed organizational environment. 

-Ability to work under minimal supervision and manage client and team relationships
-Ability to obtain a security clearance 
-BA or BS degree required 


Additional Qualifications: 
-Experience with supporting programs and contracts within the federal government 

-Experience with RS Means, Crystal Ball, or other cost estimating software.

-Experience with performing statistical regression analysis, learning curve analysis, and other data analyses, including Monte Carlo simulation

-Experience with supervising junior cost estimators and leading teams

-Experience with DoD acquisition and support of major milestones

-Experience with business development

-Possession of excellent data gathering, analytical, and problem-solving skills 
-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills 

-Secret clearance
-BA or BS degree in Engineering, Business, Economics, Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Operations Research, or Mathematics 

-Professional Cost Estimating Certification, including ICEA’s Certified Cost Estimator/Analyst (CCEA), AACE’s Certified Cost Professional (CCP), or similar
