Cyber Applications Development Engineer, Senior

Key Role:

Tackle cutting-edge problems in the Cyber domain that need solutions, uncover the nature of a problem, and develop solutions while serving as a Cyber applications development engineer on a data science capability team. Collaborate with other engineers, analysts, and scientists to build customized advanced analytics in support of Cyber operations. Work with team members to develop machine intelligence, data mining, and statistical and graph-based algorithms designed to analyze massive data sets. Team with Cloud computing technologists to transform and scale advanced analytics to ensure the proper implementation of algorithms while providing guidance to junior team members conducting applied research on cutting-edge techniques or technologies. Contribute to the full system development life cycle (SDLC) support with a focus on the development of application and embedded solutions that contribute to the satisfaction of mission needs. Apply expertise with COTS or FOSS integration and custom development in C/C++ and Python to convert functional and technical requirements into mission solutions. Create level of effort and duration estimates for development activities along with working independently or on a team in a highly dynamic and fast-paced environment.


Basic Qualifications:

-Experience with developing in Java with Linux, or Windows environments along with script writing using Python and other languages, such as Perl, Bash, C Shell, Windows Batch, or equivalent government specified scripting languages

-Experience with analyzing user requirements to derive software design and performance requirements along with developing modular software components based on defined software designs

-Experience with debugging existing software and correcting defects

-Experience with Subversion or equivalent version control software

-Experience with developer productivity tools, including JIRA, Confluence, and GitHub

-Experience with gathering and developing technical and functional requirements

-TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph

-BS degree in EE, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science and 8+ years of experience with software engineering or 12+ years of experience with software engineering in lieu of a degree


Additional Qualifications: 

-Experience with developing CNO tools and working with SMS and C/C++ development in Windows, including Win32

-Experience with networking engineering, including TCP/IP, UDP, Wireshark plugin development, and signals or protocol analysis and development

-Experience with network protocol analysis and vulnerability analysis

-Experience with SQL

-Experience with applying the principles, methods, and applications of electrical engineering that have supported or been used as part of a M&S effort

-Experience with FPGA development

-Experience with designing and implementing machine learning, data mining, statistics, or graph algorithms in an academic or professional work environment

-Experience with technologies, including Hadoop or Spark, NVIDIA or GPU, or equivalent distributed platforms

-Experience with computer security and analyzing large Cyber data sets in an academic, commercial, or government environment

-Knowledge of IA concepts, including cryptography
