Cyber Defense Analyst, Mid

Key Role:

Provide Cybersecurity systems engineering (SE), integration, and testing support to DoD network elements using security assessment tools and manual reviews. Provide Information Security Controls and guidelines to nodes and network management systems. Review security threats and determine or implement effective countermeasures. Analyze network or system changes or reconfigurations for security impacts, including performing risk analysis or assessment. Perform functions in support of the Defense Information Technology Security Certification and Accreditation Program (DITSCAP), as required. Evaluate security impact and recommend responses to Information Assurance Vulnerability Alert (IAVA) inquiries, provide certification and accreditation (C&A) engineering support, and review security test and evaluation (ST&E) reports.


Basic Qualifications:

-2+ years of experience with DoD Cybersecurity engineering or testing

-Experience with using the most current DoD-approved vulnerability scanners to assist with security audits to identify vulnerabilities through open ports, insecure configuration, and expertise

-Knowledge of anti-virus software, backups, microkernels, the principle of least privilege, defense in depth, audit logs, security patches, social engineering, and secure disclosure of vulnerabilities in accordance with the most current DoD-approved Security Classification Guides (SCGs)

-TS/SCI clearance 

-BS degree

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience in working with the DoD

-Experience with CNSSI 1253 Security Categorization and Control Selection for National Security Systems, Commercial National Security Algorithm (CNSA) suite, Quantum Computing, and CNSS Advisory Memorandum 02-15, where required

-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills

-Possession of excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

-BS degree in Engineering or related technical field preferred; MA or MS degree a plus 

Clearance:
Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance is required.
