Cybersecurity Engineer/Architect, Senior

Key Role:

Serve as the Cybersecurity architect for the client's Automated Digital Network System (ADNS) future software defined networking (SDN) development effort. Develop and implement the overall Cybersecurity strategy. Identify and articulate Cybersecurity requirements, both DoD required and best practices, for design and implementation. Design and implement the overall security architecture of the Navy’s tactical Wide Area Network (WAN) software defined network solution, ensuring compliance to standards, policies, procedures, and best practices. Plan security systems by evaluating network and security technologies and develop requirements for VPNs, routers, firewalls, and related infrastructure security devices, including IPS, SIEM, network and systems access controls, authentication devices, enterprise monitoring and test systems, and others. Identify and communicate current and emerging security threats as they relate to the operating environment and design security architecture elements to mitigate threats as they emerge. Develop Information Assurance (IA) strategy, Program Protection Plan, and related security architecture documentation.

Basic Qualifications:

-10+ years of experience with network design, management, operations, and sustainment

-5+ years of experience with infrastructure architecture and security management for US Navy or DoD programs, providing software engineering design, development, frameworks, and analysis of alternatives, and presenting technical options to leadership and clients

-Experience with developing and auditing firewall and intrusion prevention rules in a large-scale network environment

-Knowledge of network segmentation architecture planning and best practices and network routing, switching, management, and security protocols and best practices

-Ability to interact with technical managers and architecture teams to articulate requirements and processes while collaborating on design and implementation options

-Ability to perform comparative analysis of technical solutions and present recommendations

-Secret clearance

-BS degree in CS, Information Security, or Infrastructure Engineering or 10 years of experience in the Cybersecurity solutions architecture industry

-DoDI 8570 Certification for IA workforce

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)

-Experience with the implementation of National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) special publications, federal regulations, and DoD policies

-Knowledge of software defined networking concepts and security requirements

-Top Secret clearance
