Cybersecurity Engineer Lead

Key Role:

Advise on the design innovative integration of Cybersecurity tool-sets to enable more automated discovery, remediation, and alerting of network and device vulnerabilities, as a means of improving the security posture, including reducing manpower requirements. Analyze emerging technologies and design and build architectures and solutions to enable the secure implementation of new technologies. Develop the necessary artifacts and maintain the core ATO of the AF technology stacks, including Platform-as-a-Service layer, Infrastructure-as-a-Service layer, and facility. Coordinate with Cybersecurity authorizing officials to develop rapid Cybersecurity processes, approvals, and reciprocity that enable Agile DevOps continuous integration, continuous delivery, and continuous deployment objectives at all classifications. Coordinate with architects and administrators to provide security posture assessments for configuration changes or updates to the technology stack. Coordinate with and support Agile DevOps teams to ensure processes and tools enable continuous integration, delivery, and deployment objectives at all classifications. Support authorizing officials or directly perform security posture assessments of locally developed, code level, or third-party capabilities being integrated into the enterprise and provide work leadership for lower-level employees.


Basic Qualifications:

-8+ years of experience with Cybersecurity or information assurance in a DoD environment, including Air Force weapon systems

-Experience as an ISSM on AF or DoD projects or programs

-Experience with TCP/IP networking concepts and technologies and the differences between traditional and Cloud security strategies, federal IT, and Cloud security policies, including FISMA, FedRAMP, NIST 800-53, and DoD Cloud SRG and applying them to Cloud security architectures

-Ability to provide strategic guidance to programs undergoing Cybersecurity reviews, including the generation of security artifacts, such as security plans, POA&M, and security CONOPS

-TS/SCI clearance

-BA or BS degree

-CISSP Certification


Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with the full software or systems development life cycle, including requirements analysis, design, integration, testing, and implementation
-Experience with implementing and supporting advanced Identity and Access Management solutions, including directory services, PIV, single-sign on, authentication services, privileged access management, and federation
-Experience with working in a network Security Operations Center (SOC), as an engineer or analyst
-Knowledge of firewalls, intrusion detection, encryption, monitoring, vulnerability scanning, and authentication solutions for traditional and Cloud-hosted IT systems
-Knowledge of software development methodologies, including .NET, Java, PHP, Perl, Python, or Ruby

-Knowledge of the Risk Management Framework (RMF) and applicable regulations, including DoDI 8500, DoDI 8510, NIST SP 800-37, NIST SP 800-53 and 53A, NIST SP 800-30, and CNSSI 1253

-Knowledge of the US Air Force domain a plus

-Ability to organize large data sets, analyze and assess varying inputs to derive engineering or programmatic conclusions, and present at an executive level
-Ability to automate the provisioning and configuration of Cloud environments through Cloud native, including CloudFormation and 3rd party, Puppet, Chef, Ansible, or PowerShell tools

-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills
-Security+, ITIL Foundations, and DoD 8570 Compliant IAM-II Certification
