Cybersecurity Engineer, Mid

Key Role:

Provide local Cybersecurity operations and support services within the IT division in support and execution of a NSWC Cybersecurity program. Maintain the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of government systems. Provide Cybersecurity services which comply with and support the DoD and DON Cybersecurity directives, policies, and procedures, including a wide-range of technical, functional, and managerial services necessary to ensure the secure operation of systems. Support policy development, technical assessment, security architecture development, security engineering, Assessment and Authorization (A&A) development, annual security control audit and review, annual contingency plan development and test, Risk Management Framework (RMF) control development, and Command and program level audit, assessment, and reporting. Develop or convert existing DoD Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Process (DIACAP) packages to RMF A&A packages. Provide local Computer Network Defense (CND) operations, monitoring, and analysis. Respond to reports of computer viruses and execute incident response tasking.


Basic Qualifications:

-Experience with the RMF and CYBERSAFE implementation of IA TA Standards

-Experience with conducting Cybersecurity testing, including DoD STIGs, Nessus, and ACAS

-Knowledge of the DoD and DON Cybersecurity policies

-Ability to perform Cybersecurity systems engineering tasking, including the analysis of security requirements and implementation of the NIST SP800-53 baseline control set

-Secret clearance

-BS degree

-DoDI 8570 IAT Level II Certification for Cybersecurity Workforce, CNSSI 4012-4016 Certificate or NDU CIO Certificate, and Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP),or GIAC Security Leadership Certification (GSLC) 

-NQV Level III Certification


Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with the implementation of IA principles, National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Special Publications, federal regulations, security standards, and DoD and DON policies

-Ability to convert DIACAP packages to RMF A&A packages

-BS degree in Engineering, Technology, or Mathematics
