Cybersecurity Engineer

Key Role:
Provide technical support and apply expertise in assessing information system compliance with DoD and Navy RMF standards and review, verify, and validate required DoD RMF documentation and artifacts in accordance with DoD Instruction 8510.01, RMF for DoD IT, and the Navy RMF Process Guide (RPG). Analyze and process the artifacts required to obtain and maintain the Authority to Operate (ATO) for information systems. Perform quality assurance reviews for required content in all packages in the Assess and Authorize (A&A) process in accordance with the client’s triage checklist. Support the client in conducting RMF checkpoint and collaboration activities, High Risk Escalation (HRE), Conditional Authorization Requests (CARs), Authorization Condition Follow-ups (ACFs), Boundary Change Requests (BCRs), and RMF Bridge Conversion (RBC) activities. Review, document, verify, and support requirements for existing and developing assessment and authorization (A&A) packages identified by the client and gather facts through research, interviews, and surveys. Apply expertise in in-depth consultative and business to practice business objectives and processes.


Basic Qualifications:
-5+ years of experience with providing information assurance support, documenting compliance, or evaluating IA security posture in a DoD environment
-Experience with analyzing and maintaining DoD Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Process (DIACAP)  and Risk Management Framework (RMF) packages
-Experience with reviewing government guidance, including task orders, directives, STIGs, or IAVAs for applicability and implementation
-Experience with providing and recommending system-level solutions to resolve security requirements and monitoring and suggesting improvement to IA policy
-Experience with providing expert assistance and guidance to ensure that the architecture and design of information systems is functional and secure
-Ability to perform and support periodic IA assessments, including manual and automated code reviews or validation reviews
-Ability to identify security engineering requirements for incorporation into software releases based on evolving DoD and DoN instructions, directives, and policies
-Secret clearance required
-Ability to obtain DoD-M 8570.01 IAT II level and SECNAV 5239.2M IA Workforce-compliant certifications within 1 month of hire
 

Additional Qualifications:
-5+ years of experience with Cybersecurity or CND in a DoD environment
-Experience with DoD Cybersecurity-Knowledge of Risk Management Framework (RMF)
-Experience with Navy C&A and A&A
-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills
-BS degree in CS, Cybersecurity, Engineering, or a related scientific or technical field
 

Clearance:
