Cybersecurity Specialist and Navy Qualified Validator

Key Role:

Serve as a Navy Qualified Validator, working with Assessment and Authorization (A&A) support staff and a government Senior Validator and A&A Lead to facilitate all accreditation efforts for networks, labs, and associated systems. Create and track Risk Management Framework (RMF) A&A packages in the DON eMASS system. Assess and document RMF security controls and compliance with Security Technical Configuration Guides (STIGs), reviewing security assessments generated by the Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS), distilling vulnerability information into the eMASS POAM and a risk assessment report, creating and updating Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) management plans, system assessment plans, and all other pertinent A&A documentation.

Basic Qualifications:

-5+ years of experience in working as a Navy Qualified Validator with the Navy RMF A&A process and eMASS system

-5+ years of experience with interpreting and implementing DoD directives, instructions, and policies that provide direction and guidance and applying them to a RDT&E environment

-Ability to show Mastery Level for Specialty Code 612, as defined in the DoD Information Assurance Workforce per SECNAV M-5239.2, DON Cyberspace Information Technology and Cybersecurity Workforce Management and Qualification Manual

-Active Top Secret clearance

-BA or BS degree

-Navy Qualified Validator (NQV) Level II Certification

-Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) designation or a GIAC Security Leadership Certificate (GSLC)

    Additional Qualifications:

    -Experience with contingency planning, firewall policy, and ports and protocols

    -Experience with virtualization, networking, Windows and Linux operating systems, and storage and backup

    -Knowledge of Navy systems, networks, and IT infrastructure, including the Navy Marine Corps Internet (NMCI)

    Clearance:
    Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Top Secret clearance is required.
