Data Analyst

Key Role:

Analyze structured and semi-structured data sets to identify hidden trends and highlight signals. Apply expertise in quantitative analysis, data mining, and data presentation to see beyond the numbers and comprehend how users interact with core and business products. Leverage expertise in structured problem solving, operations research techniques, and emerging data science while drawing on experience with warfare modeling and functional and mission level analysis. Generate reports and visualizations that summarize data sets and provide data-driven insights to customers. Collaborate with technical and functional subject matter experts on Navy and DoD IT systems and data to implement enterprise data management standards. Gather meaningful patterns from historical information, including transforming large sets of data into actionable results for Cybersecurity clients. Partner with subject matter experts to translate manual data analysis into automated analytics.


Basic Qualifications:

-2+ years of experience in a strategic corporate or governmental analysis role for the Navy or DoD

-Experience with statistics, mathematics, data engineering, machine learning, or visualization

-Ability to collect and analyze information to make enterprise recommendations for improvements in data visualization, analytics, and reporting

-Ability to leverage expertise in Microsoft Excel

-Ability to provide reports on client-identified issues or topics and short analysis reports

-Ability to provide deep-dive reports on the historical or contextual perspectives of customer issues or topics and identify trends or provide analyses

-Ability to analyze business processes, perform business process mapping, and recommend improvements using statistical analysis and industry best practices, including Lean Six Sigma

-Active Secret clearance

-BA or BS degree in Mathematics, Operations Research, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Technology, or Engineering


Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with acquiring, merging, interpreting, and synthesizing large data sets

-Experience with data manipulation and visualization

-Experience with visualization tools, including Tableau

-Experience with writing or assessing system requirements

-Experience with SQL queries and databases
