Data Architect, Senior

Key Role:

Join an existing team of solution architects responsible for modernizing the Air Force Distributed Common System (AF DCGS) enterprise system or system-of-systems. Provide thought leadership around the technologies and approaches to enterprise data, including master data management (MDM), data governance, data strategy, cost-optimization, innovation, and efficiency. Assess current data needs, its architecture and tools, and propose plans for improvements to support business growth in the most optimal way. Drive data virtualization initiatives and determine appropriate delivery mechanisms to support data mining and gathering of client insights. Ensure data quality and drive improvements to data management processes, data storage, data consumption, and data security to better meet the needs of the business and clients. Work directly with the product development and IT teams for design and implementation of data architecture solutions and collaborate with senior leadership to develop and execute enterprise data strategy. Provide architectural leadership in shaping strategic, business technology approaches, with an emphasis on application architecture.

Basic Qualifications:

-8+ years of experience in IT solution delivery, serving as a data architect or data engineer with a focus on the design, implementation, and operations of distributed applications

-6 years of experience in database design and data modeling of complex data stores

-6 years of experience with hands-on database programming

-5 years of experience with DBA development

-Experience as a technical lead in a client-facing environment required

-Knowledge of data design patterns and development best practices

-Ability to work with both senior management level executives and development teams

-Active Secret clearance

-BA or BS degree in Computer Science, Math, or Engineering

Additional Qualifications

-5 years of experience in projects using agile and waterfall methodologies

-Experience with Air Force or DoD clients preferred

-Experience with open architectures

-Knowledge of virtualization or certification

-Knowledge in Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)

-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills

-Data Architecture Certification or similar
