Data Architect

Key Role:

Work under general direction and assist with the planning, design, and implementation of communications networks. Maintain responsibility for the assessment and optimization of network design through the review and assessment of user needs. Conduct feasibility studies for large projects, develop requests for proposal, evaluate vendor products, and make recommendations on selection. Function in a lead position providing guidance and training to junior analysts.


Basic Qualifications:

-Experience with Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) systems and mission command systems and interoperability

-Knowledge of Tactical Army Operations and Digital Task Organization

-Knowledge of unit C2R/C2I architectures and data types

-Knowledge of Tactical Radio architectures and data types

-Knowledge of Tactical network architectures and data types

-Secret clearance

-BA or BS degree in CS, EE, Software Engineering, or Information Systems or5 years of experience with data architecture in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree


Additional Qualifications

-5 years of experience with architecture design or development of enterprise data solutions, applications, and integrations

-3 years of experience with Army digitization efforts within the past 10 years

-2 years of experience with Army Operations

-Experience with modern enterprise data architectures and data toolsets, including data warehouse, data marts, data lake, dimensional models, modeling tools, and profiling tools

-Knowledge of data architecture and design patterns and how to apply them

-Ability to learn and adapt quickly to Army and DoD business domains and technologies

-Ability to define data requirements

-Ability to conceptualize and articulate ideas clearly and concisely

-Ability to define the attributes and domain of data types

-Ability to create physical models based on functional and nonfunctional requirements

-Possession of excellent problem–solving, presentation, and interpersonal skills

-Possession of excellent oral and written communication, skills


Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required.
