Data Engineer

Key Role:

Provide Enterprise Data Management (EDM) thought leadership to the AF CDO.  Identify and advocate EDM processes, training, procedures, and tools. Identify opportunities for the AF CDO to leverage AF organizational constructs, including AFIT, DAU, career field managers, PEOs, and research community to institutionalize the AF CDO Strategy. Identify EDM methodologies and tools proactively for use across the AF. Build coalitions across MAJCOMS, Air Staff, PEOs, and other communities to plan, design, and implement EDM practices, procedures, and tools. Plan, staff, budget, and direct major enterprise data management projects or programs, maintain responsibility for budget or financial information for managed projects, and ensure adherence to schedules, budgets, and contractual commitments. Apply leading–edge data principles, theories, and concepts to job assignments and contribute to the advancement of industry knowledge in the area of expertise. Solve the most complex Air Force data problems, of critical importance to the organization's technical direction, perform as an expert in the field, and lead the development and implementation of key technologies for the organization.


Basic Qualifications:

-7+ years of experience with leading technical teams and managing client relationships

-Experience with Agile methodologies
-Experience with managing Air Force or DoD programs

-Experience with enterprise data management disciplines and maturity models, including DMBOK and SEI–DMM

-Experience with managing diverse, distributed, and remote teams

-Knowledge of Air Force systems and data

-Secret clearance

-BA or BS degree


Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with managing sub–contractor relationships

-Experience with the platforms, tools, and vendors related to enterprise data management, data science, and Big Data

-Experience with commercial Cloud service offerings, Cloud native technologies, and managed platform services

-Experience with security architectures, RMF, and obtaining ATO in an Air Force or DoD context

-PMP or Scrum Master Certification


Clearance:
Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required.
