Data Extraction Engineer, Mid

Key Role:

Design robust Natural Language Processing (NLP) rule sets using data management and linguist methodologies. Work closely with direct operations and software development teams to integrate data mining and NLP into cutting-edge entity extraction tools to feed enterprise tool capabilities and data science initiatives. Coordinate with analysts to gather requirements to refine data extraction methods. Develop and maintain methods of exposing extracted entities through unique data mining and NLP capabilities to customers through a big data analytic platform. Manage quality of automated entity extraction and make necessary changes to extraction pipeline and rule sets. Work through obstacles independently and seek creative solutions to apply linguist techniques to analyzing and extracting relevant information from large amounts of data through automated capability.

Basic Qualifications: 
-3+ years of experience with high-level languages, including Java
-2+ years of experience with natural language processing technologies, including StanfordNLP, OpenNLP, ClearNLP, or NetOwl

-Experience with using Agile software development methods in a DevOps environment
-Experience with developing solutions and integrating and extending free and Open-source software (FOSS) or COTS products
-Ability to exhibit flexibility, initiative, and innovation when dealing with ambiguous and fast-paced situations

-TS/SCI clearance 
-DoD 8570 Compliance Certifications, including Security+ or CISSP

Additional Qualifications: 

-Experience in MapReduce programming with Apache Hadoop, the Hadoop Distributed File System (HDFS), and processing large data stores

-Experience with a real-time, large-scale data processing engine, including Apache Spark

-Experience in working with various intelligence disciplines, including GEOINT, HUMINT, MASINT, OSINT, and SIGINT and understanding the data and tools associated with these disciplines
-Experience with intelligence or operations analysis in the DoD or intelligence community
-Experience with designing and developing automated analytic software, techniques, and algorithms
-BA or BS degree
