Data Integration Developer

Key Role:
Perform complex analysis, design, development, testing, and debugging of computer software on top of a common data platform. Participate in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and take part in the iterative feedback process to define new team processes and improve existing processes. Decompose feature requests into user stories based on functional and technical requirements and research new and existing technologies for integration into our platform products and create design documents to be reviewed by the team. Implement features and develop applications and add-ons using best practices and common coding conventions. Participate in code reviews, create related unit tests and release documentation, as needed, assemble release packages for distribution to customers, and analyze data for integrity and quality issues. Perform operational performance assessments of our developed products and implement optimizations. Assist with writing, updating, and executing manual and automated test cases to support testers, assist with maintaining and upgrading existing lab infrastructure environments, and provide Tier III support activities, including troubleshooting sessions with clients.

Basic Qualifications:

-1+ years of experience with development in a modern language, including C/C++, Java, or Python

-1+ years of experience with working as part of a software development team

-Ability to obtain a security clearance

-BA or BS degree

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with working in an Agile team framework

-Experience in developing Splunk queries and working with data models and the KV Store

-Experience with Linux

-Experience with Shell scripting

-Experience in working with integrating both structured and unstructured data sets

-Experience using Web APIs, including REST or SOAP

-Experience with SQL databases

-Experience working with distributed system architectures

-Experience with any or all of the following tools: version control tools, including Git or Subversion, build automation and deployment tools, including Gradle, Maven, or Jenkins, configuration management, including Ansible or Vagrant, or virtualization tools, including VirtualBox, VMware Player, Vagrant, or Docker

-Ability to work under general to little supervision

-Ability to be open-minded about learning new technologies and techniques and assist with training junior software engineering staff

-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills

-BS degree in CS or a related technical field
