Data Management Lead/Subject Matter Expert

Key Role:

Provide data management thought leadership to senior Air Force leaders. Apply expertise in industry best practices, including the data management body of knowledge (DMBOK) and strategies for the development and implementation of data architectures and associated artifacts, such as data dictionaries, information asset catalogs, and governance plans. Integrate data management strategies and solutions from public, private, and academic environments and adapt them to meet the needs of the Air Force data environment. Collaborate with data science subject matter experts (SMEs) on a future state technology model to facilitate enterprise-wide data management, including transition to Cloud-based environment and application of industry standard data hubs or lakes. Provide guidance on the implementation of an Air Force data strategy and development of data policies. Engage senior Air Force data stakeholders in generating strategic and operational action plans based on collaborative needs, including streamlined data sharing and data accessibility.

Basic Qualifications:

-7+ years of experiences as a data architect, including implementing metadata management solutions

-Experience with data management best practices and technologies

-Knowledge of data science and analytics

-Ability to manage junior team members engaged in data curation activities

-Secret clearance

-BA or BS degree

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with data discovery, data acquisition, and adjudication activities with Air Force systems and data sets

-Experience with metadata management tools, processes and techniques

-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills, including interacting with the client and technical writing and reporting

-Certified Data Management Practitioner Certification, including CDMP, CIMP, or DMM
