Data Scientist

Key Role:

Help implement the design and development of machine learning algorithms and engaging data visualizations as part of an innovative data science team. Perform highly complex analysis, design, development, testing, and debugging of developed algorithms. Analyze and apply advanced methods, theories, and research techniques to the investigation and testing of complex and advanced software applications and problems. Use technical and analytical expertise to explore and examine data from multiple disparate sources with the goal of discovering patterns and previously hidden insights that can provide a competitive advantage or address a pressing business problem. Apply expertise in CS, software development, and the latest technologies to analyze and implement analysis infrastructure and tools, analytic workflow processes, and complex data visualizations. Leverage comprehension of mathematical and statistical concepts, CS, or domain expertise to bridge the gap among business analysts, engineers, technologists, and mathematicians to ensure software solutions meet analytic requirements.

Basic Qualifications:

-1+ years of experience with designing and implementing machine learning, data mining, statistics, or graph algorithms in an academic or professional work environment

-1+ years of experience with programming in Python, R, or an equivalent language

-Experience with using Logistic Regression, SVM, Decision Tree, and Random Forest

-Experience with using data visualization tools and techniques

-Ability to think creatively to develop innovative solutions in a team environment

-Ability to learn quickly and display natural curiosity

-Ability to obtain a security clearance

-BA or BS degree

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with using virtual machine environments

-Experience with High Performance Computing (HPC)

-Experience with developing solutions using Amazon Web Services

-Knowledge of Big Data stacks, including ELK, Spark, or Hadoop

-BS degree in CS, Mathematics, Engineering, or related technical field preferred; MA or MS degree a plus
