Data Strategist, Senior

Key Role:

Work with customers to architect Big Data management and analytic solutions that evolve their capabilities while also serving their business strategy. Combine architectural innovation with data management expertise to deliver robust technical approaches that serve clients and stand apart from competitors. Recommend innovative strategies that combine commercial Cloud services, microservices, containerization, DevOps, and NoSQL frameworks to drive insights from vast amounts of structured and unstructured data. Engage with multiple functional groups to comprehend client challenges, prototype new ideas and new technologies, and help create solutions to drive the next wave of innovation. Act as a liaison for other departments, divisions, and organizations, as needed. Evaluate progress and results and recommend major changes in procedures. Operate with considerable latitude for unreviewed action or decision.


Basic Qualifications:

-4+ years of experience with dimensional data modeling and schema design in data warehouses 

-3+ years of experience with hands-on software design, implementation, and testing 

-2+ years of experience with custom or structured ETL design, implementation, and maintenance 

-1+ years of experience with an AWS or Azure Cloud platform

-Experience with a Map Reduce system or one with an equivalent size and scale 

-Experience with batch and streaming frameworks, including Storm, NiFi, Apex, and Flink 

-Experience with storage components, including Accumulo, HBase, and Hive and/or search technologies including Solr and Elasticsearch

-Knowledge of RESTful services design, development, and testing 

-Ability to obtain a security clearance

-BS degree in CS


Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with data modeling concepts using languages that include XML and JSON

-Experience with RDBMS data stores, including Oracle, MySQL, or PostgreSQL 

-Experience with large-scale, distributed systems design and development, including scaling, performance, and scheduling 

-Knowledge of at least one scripting language, including Python, Node, Ruby, or Bash 

-Knowledge of system architecture, including process, memory, storage, and networking management preferred

-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills, including communicating with multiple functional groups

-Possession of excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
