Data Warehouse Business/Data Analyst

Key Role:

Provide business and data analysis for Booz Allen's internal data warehousing team to support the business’ transformation to a new financial system while applying knowledge of full life cycle development, including a focus on identification and documentation of business requirements, analysis of the development of key business processes, business rules, system and user testing, data sourcing strategies, data validation, and user support with data analysis. Participate in all aspects of the project life cycle, follow stringent rules and procedures for validating data and code in compliance with Change Control Board processes, and analyze processes to monitor and control data integrity, quality, security, and Sarbanes-Oxley compliant controls. Lead sub-projects, serve as a subject matter expert (SME) in the recognized area of support, and communicate regularly with the lead, project manager, and other staff to provide project status updates and ensure problems are recognized and addressed before they endanger the success of the project. Mentor junior staff through the project life cycle, including guidance on day-to-day tasks. This position may be matrixed across multiple teams simultaneously and serves as a liaison between IT and the broader business community, as needed.

Basic Qualifications:

-10+ years of experience in a professional work environment

-5+ years of experience with hands-on business and data analysis in data warehousing, including advanced to senior level SQL expertise, managing deadlines across multiple deliverables, and providing resolutions to production issues

-5+ years of experience in facilitating information-gathering and validation sessions to gain insight into systems, processes, and data and liaising with SMEs throughout the project life cycle, including eliciting, documenting and validating data requirements

-5+ years of experience with leading enterprise data warehousing projects throughout the project life cycle, writing detailed requirements, documenting meeting minutes, data mapping documentation based on business rules provided by clients using internal templates, working in an agile environment, and adapting to changing priorities

-Experience with full life cycle project development, requirements, design, testing, rollout, and implementation from a business analyst perspective, including performing Level of Effort (LOE) analysis

-Ability to collaborate with technical teams both internal and external to the data warehouse to review business requirements and documentation, resolve issues of data, coding or business logic, perform analysis and research, manage deadlines across multiple deliverables, provide resolutions to production issues, and mentor junior staff through day-to-day work tasks

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with managing applications that meet Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) process and access controls

-Experience with data validations tools, including Toad Data Point

-Experience with using business intelligence tools, including Tableau

-Knowledge of financial data and concepts

-Possession of excellent interpersonal, organizational, time management, and leadership skills

-BA or BS degree
