Database Architect

The Charleston Digital Hub of Booz Allen Hamilton is seeking qualified candidates for a Data Architect in the Charleston, SC area.

The Charleston Digital Hub is a software development hub of Booz Allen that operates and executes much like a fast-paced startup within the larger organization. A Database Architect at the Charleston Digital Hub focuses on data migration to apply knowledge and expertise with data conversation strategies, data mapping, data profiling, and data modeling. Leverages expertise in requirements identification and analysis required for data migration between the existing legacy systems and the proposed core COTS application. Leverages expertise and knowledge in data management practices to assist with the preparation and review of Data Quality Standards, Data Business Rules, Data Management Policies, Data Management Strategies, and Data Migration Strategies. Coordinates the review and input to the Data Management Integration Plan (DMIP) and Data Dictionary; and provide technical guidance on all policies and protocols applicable to system interfaces.


-Ability to obtain a security clearance

-8+ years of experience with one or more of the following: Data mapping, data architecture, data migration, data modeling, or database administration

-5+ years of experience with analysis, design, development, or management of DoD Business System

-5+ years of experience with database administration or development (Ex. Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle)

-3+ years of experience with data profiling tools such as SAP Business Objects Data Services

-2+ years of experience with data modeling tools such as Erwin Data Modeler


-3+ years of experience with developing software in Java, C, C++, or other high level languages

-BA or BS degree in IT, Database Management, or Database Administration, or an engineering field

-Certification as a database administrator, developer, designer, or architect or verifiable training in database administration, development, design, or architecture.
