Database Engineer

Key Role:

Design, implement, and manage databases and data delivery systems and transform it into insights, analysis, and reporting. Apply knowledge of database design and implementation tools, including entity-relationship data modelling and SQL, distributed computing architectures, operating systems, storage technologies, memory management, and networking enables to create structure and value out of complex and ambiguous technical challenges with little guidance. Leverage expertise in structured and unstructured data, streaming and batch data processing, ETL, data wrangling, data ingest, and data access.

Basic Qualifications:

-2+ years of experience in working with and managing Microsoft SQL Server 2012+, including generating ad-hoc queries and executing data and schema updates

-Experience with developing and deploying SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) packages and developing and maintaining SQL Server agent jobs

-Knowledge of basic data management principles, including normalization and data management processes, such as quality reviews and optimization

-Ability to work independently with little support from manager for routine tasks

-Ability to perform in a team environment and collaborate, as needed

-Secret clearance

-AA or AS degree

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with MySQL, Oracle, and Microsoft Access databases

-Experience with Commercial Cloud Service provider database environments, including AWS or Azure

-Experience with the design, implementation, or administration of clustered database environments

-Experience with high-availability database environments

-Knowledge of customer support to provide identification and resolution of system issues

-BA or BS degree in CS

-Certification in any database management field of study, including MCITP
