Database Management Specialist, Senior

Key Role:

Maintain and update repositories of documentation generated by multiple participants in complex and multi-project acquisition programs and design, maintain, and enhance the taxonomy by which this material is organized. Ensure that the material is readily accessible to PMO members, responding quickly and effectively to requests for information and making data accessible to programmers and end-users. Monitor and maintain the databases and restructure, if needed, including confirming the validity of the data contained in the file databases, assist with the creation of structures and standards for use and maintenance of the databases, including enabling information to be pulled through various reports, and organize data through various methods, communication links to users, and availability to user friendly options. Ensure database access and connectivity support by collaborating with end-users and assist with the implementation of database maintenance and security procedures, including adding and removing users and administering quotas. Assist with defining database design and management standards, documenting new and existing systems and procedures, and creating and maintaining databases used to support acquisition oversight functions. Collaborate with users to ensure that the database meets their requirements and communicate to all users any updates to file databases. Assist with the implementation of operating methods to improve processing, distribution, data flow, collection, and database editing procedures, troubleshoot problems concerning database records, and communicate this information to users.

Basic Qualifications:

-7 years of experience with data management

-Knowledge of document management processes and software

-Knowledge of how to create, implement, and maintain data file structures and use system utilities to troubleshoot faulty database information

-TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph

-BA or BS degree in Information Systems, Database Administration, Business Acquisition, Contract Management, or Program Management or 10 years of experience with data management

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with SharePoint and programming a plus

-Knowledge of DoD 5000 acquisition process, C4ISR or DoDAF documentation requirements, record keeping and archiving processes, and system engineering preferred
