Database Manager, Mid

Key Role:                              
Analyze database systems involved in the planning, designing, evaluating, and execution of simulation-supported training events. Assist with resolving interoperability issues pertaining to exercise systems and system configuration requirements. Develop subject matter expertise in simulation platforms used for training exercises and maintain proficiency in software and training support package (TSP) products for multiple military constructive exercises and that integrate with Mission Command Information Systems (MCiS) capabilities. Test and troubleshoot exercise system hardware and software to ensure minimal downtime of systems using capability documents and performance of operational readiness tests in preparation for training events. Analyze and document flaws in database configuration and implement corrections. Assist with training soldiers on using components of the simulation platforms and MCiS to support training exercises. Participate in special projects and perform additional duties to support client requirements, as required. This position is located in Houston, TX.
 

Basic Qualifications:

-5+ years of experience in a professional work environment
-Experience with military exercise database development or military exercise database management
-Experience in working with Microsoft Office products
-Ability to support training exercises in a semi-austere environment, as necessary
-Secret clearance required

-HS diploma or GED

Additional Qualifications:
-4+ years of experience with database requirements identification, construction, and management across Windows and Linux

-Experience with conducting training exercises for military service members
-Experience with military service, including command post operations, digital master gunner, or battle staff operations 
-Experience with developing database files from multiple sources of information that directly support simulations or gaming applications
-Experience with Warrior Simulation (WARSIM) database management or Joint Deployment Logistics Model (JDLM) database management
-Knowledge of the following: Command Post of the Future (CPOF), Joint capabilities and system subcomponents, the Multiple Unified Simulation Environment (MUSE) or Virtual Reality Scene Generator (VRSG), Distributed Common Ground System – Army (DCGS-A), or the Advanced Field Artillery Tactical Data System (AFATDS)
-Ability to review and manage software updates to hardware packages or systems in order to maintain network compliance standards
-BA or BS degree preferred
