Database Manager

Key Role:
Analyze database systems involved in the planning, designing, evaluating, and execution of simulation-supported training events. Assist with resolving interoperability issues pertaining to exercise systems and assist with system configuration requirements. Develop subject matter expertise in simulation platforms used for training exercises and maintain technical and tactical proficiency in software and training support package (TSP) products for multiple military Live Virtual Constructive Gaming – Integrated Architecture (LVCG-IA) and Mission Command Information Systems (MCiS) capabilities. Test and troubleshoot exercise system hardware and software to ensure minimal downtime of systems using capability documents and performance of operational readiness tests in preparation for training events. Analyze and document flaws in database configuration and implement corrections. Assist with training soldiers on using components of the various LVCG-IA and MCiS in support of training exercises. Participate in special projects and perform additional duties to support client requirements, as required.
 

Basic Qualifications:
-Experience with database development or database management
-Experience in working with Microsoft Office products
-Ability to support training exercises in a semi-austere environment, as necessary
-Ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced environment
-Secret clearance required
-HS diploma or GED
 

Additional Qualifications:
-Experience with developing database files from multiple sources of information that directly support simulations or gaming applications
-Experience with Joint Conflict and Tactical Simulation (JCATS) database management
-Experience with training and training exercises for military service members, command post operations, digital master gunner, and battle staff operations
-Knowledge of Command Post of the Future (CPOF), Joint Capabilities Release (JCR), Virtual Battle Simulation version 3 (VBS3), Joint Land Component Constructive Training Capability (JLCCTC) and system subcomponents, Multiple Unified Simulation Environment (MUSE) or Virtual Reality Scene Generator (VRSG), Distributed Common Ground System – Army (DCGS-A), or Advanced Field Artillery Tactical Data System (AFATDS)
-Ability to manage software updates to hardware packages or systems in order to maintain network compliance standards, create a database, and deploy using Army unit task organization
-AA or AS degree preferred; BA or BS degree a plus
 

Clearance:
Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required.
