Defense Program Acquisition and Contract Specialist

Key Role:

Apply knowledge of defense acquisition to support and contribute to the development of acquisition and contract technical documentation, including Acquisition Plans (AP), Simplified Acquisition Management Plans (SAMP), Request for Proposal (RFP), and Technical Advisor Reports (TAR). Provide acquisition support to all statutory, regulatory, and policy updates impacting acquisition documentation requirements. Support contract execution by preparing electronic Procurement Requests (PRs) using the Standard Procurement System (SPS), track and monitor contract modifications, develop contract status reporting, and maintain historical contract documentation. Use quantitative analytical techniques and critical thinking to assess system acquisition process issues and develop risk reduction and mitigation approaches for improving acquisition and program planning, control, and execution.


Basic Qualifications:

-5 years of experience with DoD Acquisition and Contract document development

-Experience with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

-Knowledge of the FAR, DFAR, DoD 5000, and SECNAVINST 5000

-Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders

-Ability to engage proactively with the client, recommend plans and solutions, and lead tasks required

-Secret clearance

-BA or BS degree


Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with Major Defense Acquisition Program (MDAP) Acquisition Category (ACAT) program acquisitions

-Experience with Standard Procurement System (SPS) a plus

-Ability to work independently and in a team environment

-Defense Acquisition University Certification
