Defense Research Analyst

Key Role:
Serve as program manager for three bilateral personnel exchange programs, linking foreign partner nations with US Army Commands, laboratories, and research centers. Provide expert analysis on programmatic challenges and analyze the drafting of US Army policies and regulations pertaining to personnel exchange programs. Research federal and Service-level regulations for armaments cooperation, foreign disclosure, and joint travel regulations and determine their impact on programs. Analyze and implement project management plans to help the US Army improve communication and collaboration across its International Armaments Cooperation enterprise. Attend meetings, review policy, strategy, and guidance, and provide recommendations to senior-level personnel. Brief international partners, including General Officers and foreign embassy personnel on opportunities to increase collaboration with the US Army’s research and development community.
 

Basic Qualifications:
-Experience with US security assistance policy or program management
-Knowledge of US Army processes and procedures
-Ability to pay strict attention to detail
-Ability to be a self-starter, manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment, work independently and as part of a team, analyze complex data, and prioritize tasks
-Active Secret clearance required
-BA or BS degree in International Affairs, International Relations, Political Science, or Government
 

Additional Qualifications:
-2+ years of experience in working with senior leaders on DoD research and development, science and technology, acquisition, and security cooperation arenas
-2+ years of experience in working with a DoD laboratory or Program Executive Office
-Experience with public speaking
-Experience with researching and analyzing DoD directives and US Army regulations
-Knowledge of service headquarters roles and responsibilities
-Possession of excellent interpersonal, critical thinking, and oral and written communication skills
-MA or MS degree in International Relations, International Affairs, Political Science, or Government
 

Clearance:
Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required.
