Desktop Engineer

Key Role:

Perform desktop engineering support to enterprise organizations. Analyze system requirements to maintain enterprise Microsoft Windows workstations and their baselines. Use Microsoft SCCM and PowerShell to maintain the proper patch level and security posture of multiple Windows assets across multiple security enclaves. Provide Tier III support to the customer service organization in support of complex Windows workstations problems. Perform mass changes to Windows registry, update of drivers, and unattended or silent installs of Windows operating systems.

Basic Qualifications:

-Knowledge of Microsoft Windows workstations, including Windows 7, 10, or 16

-Knowledge of Microsoft SCCM, including role-based administration, monitoring of site health, building or capturing Windows images, and task sequencing

-Knowledge of mass changes of Windows workstation through SCCM or other technologies

-Active TS/SCI clearance

-DoD 8570 Baseline Security Certification compliant, including Security+, CASP, CISSP, or CISM

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with deploying, configuring, and managing enterprise configuration and application management solutions using Microsoft SCCM

-Experience with the management and operational use of systems monitoring tools, including Solarwinds, Splunk, or Microsoft SCOM

-Experience with developing deployment, configuration, and reporting solutions using Microsoft PowerShell

-Experience with analyzing and enhancing operational procedures and new innovative solutions to address current and emerging IT challenges

-Knowledge of ITIL change management and problem management best practices

-Ability to work independently and as a team member to solve difficult technical challenges on a global scale

-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills

-Possession of excellent team collaboration skills

-BA or BS degree in CS, Computer Engineering, or Network Engineering

-MCTS: Administering and Deploying System Center 2012 Configuration Manager Certification

-MCSA or MCSE Windows 2012, 2012R2, or 2016 Certification

-ITIL v3 Foundations Certification
