Desktop Virtualization Engineer

Key Role:
Perform complicated and difficult software and systems design engineering assignments that require a high degree of technical competence reflecting current state–of–the–art applications. Maintain full technical responsibility for planning, organizing, and conducting desktop virtualization projects in the design and development of global enterprise desktop solutions and other virtual environments. Conceive and plan projects involving the assessment of basic architecture and current hardware limitations, the definition and selection of new concepts and approaches, the design, development, and implementation of non–routine major software engineering applications, the analysis and investigation of major software engineering project tasks, the definition of complex design specifications and parameters, the development and application of major routines and utility programs, resolutions of difficult hardware and software compatibility and interface design considerations, and the analysis of system architecture requirements and structures. Conduct independent technical investigations in software and systems design. Coordinate and consolidate design efforts on major projects. Prepare design specifications, analysis, and recommendations for presentation and approval. Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and design support personnel.

Basic Qualifications:
-Experience with designing, deploying, managing, and configuring on virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) environments using VMWare and Citrix solutions
-Experience with developing and operating virtual desktop operating systems for Windows 7, 8, or 10
-TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph
-AA or AS degree and 6+ years of experience with IT systems administration and engineering, including responsibilities related to maintaining high systems availability and secure systems posture, such as patching and maintenance or BA or BS degree and 4+ years of experience with IT systems administration and engineering
-DoD 8570 baseline security certification, including Security+, CASP, CISSP, or CISM

Additional Qualifications:
-Experience with deploying, configuring, and managing enterprise solutions for Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 10
-Experience with the management and operational use of systems monitoring tools, including Solarwinds, Splunk, or Microsoft SCOM
-Experience with developing and enhancing operational procedures and new innovative solutions to address current and emerging IT challenges
-Knowledge of ITIL change managements and problem management best practices
-Ability to work independently and as a team member to solve difficult technical challenges on a global scale
-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills
-Possession of excellent team collaboration skills
-BA or BS degree in CS, Computer Engineering, or Network Engineering
-Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) in Server 2012, 2012R2, or 2016, or Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) in Server 2012, 2012R2, or 2016 Certification
-VMware Certified Professional (VCP-DTM) or VMware Certified Advanced Professional (VCAP-DTM) Certification
-Citrix Certified Associate (CCA-V) Certification
-ITILv3 Foundations Certification
