Development Program Consultant

Key Role:
Analyze, assess, and coordinate technology and acquisition program plans, including technology development and experimentation plans and acquisition strategies. Provide technology and acquisition expertise through the development life cycle. Identify qualified experts within the company and establish, lead, or facilitate integrated product teams supporting government clients. Solve AF clients' R&D challenges within applicable statutes, policies, stakeholder needs, and best practices. Build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including major commands representing warfighters and other end users, resource or budget sponsors, technology developers, intelligence analysts, higher headquarters, and industry to ensure successful program execution and obtain concurrence on the planned way–ahead.
 

Basic Qualifications:
-20 years of experience with AF technology development or systems acquisition, including hands-on application of best practices in systems engineering, program management, or test and evaluation 
-Experience with solving systems engineering challenges associated with integrating aircraft, weapons, command and control, training systems, support equipment, and other hardware and software system elements 
-Experience with planning, architecting, awarding, or executing contracts with industry
-Ability to facilitate integrated product teams and derive final strategy recommendations for clients supported by stakeholders and higher headquarters
-Secret clearance
-BS degree in Engineering or Science
 

Additional Qualifications:
-Experience with military aviation operations 
-Knowledge of the Joint or Service capability and requirements process by which weapon system requirements and operating concepts are developed and validated by the AF
-Knowledge of the AF Research Laboratory, AF Life Cycle Management Center, program executive officer portfolios, AF functional and staff organizations, and the roles and missions of all the above
-Top Secret clearance preferred
-MA or MS degree in Engineering or a related scientific field preferred
-DoD Program Management, Systems Engineering (SPRDE), or Test and Evaluation Certification
 

Clearance:
Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required.
