Directed Energy Engineer/Scientist

Key Role:

Advise and perform research or other professional engineering and scientific work concerned with using and exploring electrical and electronic phenomena and the motion, emissions, conduction, and behavior of electrical energy currents. Design high power and high electrical density electrical equipment, components, or systems and generate and transmit high electrical energy in an efficient manner. Support the growth of an Albuquerque-based directed energy team by providing creativity, technical leadership, and workmanship to the research and development of high power directed energy systems. Contribute to the development and refinement of opportunity pipelines across Booz Allen. Develop and implement innovative technical solutions, including computational models, brass boards, and prototypes to meet challenging directed energy requirements. Work effectively in multi-disciplinary technical teams to meet technical goals and contribute to Booz Allen's brand in directed energy through excellent technical work, frequent engagement with clients and industry, and presentations of cutting-edge directed energy research and development work in forums of interest.


Basic Qualifications:

-7+ years of experience with science, technology, research, or development for directed energy systems

-Experience with modeling, simulation, design, or analysis of electro-optical or electromagnetic systems, subsystems, or components

-Secret clearance

-BA or BS degree


Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with high energy laser systems, high power microwave systems, or high power electromagnetic systems, including laboratory and field testing

-Experience with Electronic Warfare or Cyber non-IT administration operations

-Ability to contribute to and work effectively in a fast-paced and collaborative environment

-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills

-Top Secret clearance

-BS degree in Physics or EE preferred; MA or MS degree a plus
