Directed Energy Systems Engineer

Key Role: 

Plan, organize, and conduct technical projects for the design and development of hardware and software for Directed Energy Weapons prototypes. Conceive and plan tasks involving the assessment of basic architecture and current hardware limitations, definition, and selection of new concepts and approaches, design, development, and implementation of engineering applications, analysis and investigation of major engineering tasks, definition of complex design specifications and parameters, development and application of major subsystems, resolutions of difficult hardware or software compatibility and interface design considerations, and analysis of system architecture requirements and structures. Conduct independent technical investigations into systems design. Coordinate and consolidate design efforts on major tasks. Prepare design specifications, analysis, and recommendations for presentation and approval. Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and design support personnel, as needed.

You Have:

-7+ years of experience with systems engineering principles, analysis, and coordination of complex design solutions

-5+ years of experience with systems engineering directly supporting DEW system development

-Experience with diverse engineering to lead across engineering disciplines

-Active Secret clearance

-BS degree in Engineering


Nice If You Have:

-Experience with leading systems engineering efforts, including preparation and review of systems engineering documentation, as required and development of requirements, specifications, interface descriptions, engineering trade studies, formal reviews, test planning, system definition, design, and architecture, and other related systems engineering products

-Ability to develop alternative approaches and conduct engineering analyses and trade-off studies, including cost-benefit and return-on-investment analyses

-Ability to evaluate systems design and architecture concepts in support of development projects or research and new business initiatives

-MS degree preferred; PhD degree a plus


Clearance:
