Document Specialist, Junior

Key Role:

Prepare and maintain systems, programming, and operations documentation, including user manuals. Maintain responsibility of current internal documentation library. Manage and organize records in all formats. Review and identify records management procedures, policies, conventions, and controls currently in place, including naming conventions, version management, and file plans and compile and organize records, accordingly. Educate staff on records management best practices, including day-forward policies, strategies, and procedures to meet ongoing records management and litigation hold needs. Perform technical duties, including records information services, analyze the development of procedures, collection and inventory management, organization and classification, indexing, and abstracting, and train government staff on records, records center, and other information procedures, database development and usage, and other duties of a central records center. Prepare monthly statistical and narrative reports on activities and progress and other reports, as needed. This position is located in Seattle, WA.  

Basic Qualifications:

-1+ years of experience with records management or library expertise

-Experience with inventorying paper and electronic records, implementing file plans, and adjusting focus for competing tasks

-Experience with filing and organizing, data entry, records management, or library management

-Knowledge of preparing and reviewing written materials, including records management instructions, guides, standard operating procedures, and compliance checklists

-Ability to be adaptable and self-motivated

-Ability to work in a collaborative team environment

-Ability to be detail-oriented and organized

-Ability to obtain a security clearance

-BA or BS degree
